The Homes for Ukraine Scheme
Following the UK Government's launch of the Homes for Ukraine scheme that enables anyone with an available room or home to offer it to Ukrainian refugees, we understand that like many people, our customers may want to help in this way.
In these circumstances, and to help facilitate the Government's scheme, our usual policy relating to letting your home will not apply. Therefore, please note the important information below:
What to do when you receive notification that you will be housing a refugee(s)
Once you have been notified that a refugee(s) will be placed in your home, please let us know by sending a secure message on our customer portal or by calling us on 0333 300 0468.
What to do when the refugee(s) leave your home
You will also need to let us know when the refugee(s) leaves your home which you can do by sending a secure message on our customer portal or by calling us on 0333 300 0468.
Whilst you are housing a refugee(s), our expectation of you will be:
- That you will continue to reside at the property and the property remains your primary residence
- You will continue to make your monthly mortgage payments as agreed with us. We recommend that you carefully consider the impact on your finances before entering the scheme. For free financial advice and guidance, you can visit the website MoneyHelper.
- You will notify your Building and Contents insurance provider of the refugee(s) being in residence
