Mortgage servicing specialist Acenden is delighted to announce the appointment of Philip Williamson as Non-Executive Director and Chairman.
Philip was CEO at Nationwide from 2002 to 2007, where he was responsible for leading the biggest ever building society merger when the Portman joined Nationwide.
During his time at Nationwide, the company was recognised for a number of significant achievements, including being an Investor in People Champion and being awarded the Sunday Times best big company to work for. Philip also won the accolade of ‘People’s Champion’ from the CBI.
In a wide ranging career in financial services, Philip has also held the position of Chairman at Investors in People, the Building Societies Association and the CML. In more recent times, Philip has undertaken the role of Chairman of EBS Building Society in Dublin and is a Non-Executive Director of In-Deed, an online conveyancing solution.
Commenting on Philip’s appointment, Amany Attia, CEO of Acenden, said: “We are delighted that Philip has joined Acenden as Non-Executive Director and Chairman. Today’s market environment provides significant opportunities for mortgage servicing companies, such as Acenden. Given Philip’s deep industry experience, extensive market knowledge and commitment to service excellence, he will play an instrumental role in helping us deliver the leading mortgage servicing proposition to clients and their customers.
“I would also like to thank John Pool, who has been our Chairman since 2009, for his hard work, guidance and the significant impact he has made. John will remain on the Acenden board as a Non-Executive Director.”
Philip Williamson added: “This is a very interesting time to be joining the board of Acenden. The company has the experience, knowledge and external servicer ratings as well as the unique analytical tools it needs to administer loan portfolios effectively, helping both customers and clients alike. The energy and commitment demonstrated by the team, combined with my experience and the opportunities that the market presents, mean that 2012 is set to be an important year for Acenden.”
